R.I.P Nathan chapman 2005-2012. You were the so good to The Lord and helping her win her Grammys and produce hit songs. You will be missed.

Yup. He went on a tweeting spree a couple days before the 2010 VMAs, apologizing to Taylor yet again. And offering her a song he wrote.

I wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her.

That song is my white whale. I need to hear it.

Red pushed some envelopes - if Tay is trying to be a leader in the industry - Great! - if on the other hand she just wants to Pop Off with LP5 - I will find something else to do until LP6.

She instagrammed a Shirley Temple quote

I love Taylor Swift, but this seems like an attention stunt. Seriously Shirley Temple was an incredible, admirable woman whose life shouldn't be used for likes on an instagram post. If she really wanted to honor Shirley, she should have highlighted the many ways she impacted the world...but Taylor chose to "honor" her by picking a random quote to highlight her own obsession with romance.
|
Don't know what to think of this exactly. The girl seems to be overthinking it. Taylor is sort of obsessed iwth love/relationships, so this is most probably the quote that caught her attention the most. Doesn't seem like an attention-seeking stunt to me. Although I agree that there are other aspects of this woman's life more deserving of being highlighted.

I noticed a lot of people are doubting her next album will open with 1 million. She's gonna do it again.
Her "negative media attention" is superficial & not really damaging, it's more petty. Kind of sexist too. She's called a **** for dating around with men, when that is completely acceptable. It's always bothered me that a young girl in her early 20s is ridiculed by the media for something so completely normal and non-scandalous.

The Lucky One is soo good
Used to be in my trinity, but eventually I realized ATW, HG, SOG>>>>. Still in my top 5 from RED.
From the first listen of this song I was blown away. Those damn drums
And those lyrics
Cons:
The chorus is a little cheesy. The line "you had it figured out since you were in school, everybody loves pretty everybody loves cool" kind of makes me cringe, not gonna lie.

We'll take anything north of 200K as a blessing.

Yeah that thread about the next album's opening week also proved for me that only the Disciples overreact MM and going pop stuff. Nobody (GP) don't care it at all. What they care about Taylor is mostly if she writes about her ex's (aka Harry Styles song) again or not. Music critics may drag her (which i'm not sure about that too), however, LP5 will be a big oppurtunity to change the perception of GP about her.
And too much negativity here, really especially after The Grammys. I was very negative before The Grammys but now i'm really positive here. I know maybe some of you didn't like MM from the beginning but i think most of us are negative because of The Grammys even if we don't accept. I'm almost sure that if she won AOTY so many ppl would've support MM here..
And i know so many of you also think Speak Now is better than Red (and mostly because of MM tracks), however facts don't agree with you. Commercially Red > SN, i think we're all agree with this. The Grammys or critical accliam thing, well Red didn't win any award i know, however it got 2 GF nods which SN couldn't. And these 2 nods were mostly because of its commercial success, no need to deny that. SN won 2 Grammys thanks to a fantastic song (Mean), Begin Again couldn't make the impact that Mean did that's why it lost, and that's nothing related with MM. Actually looking from the pop side, Red was clearly far better for both commercial success and critics (or The Grammys). And when was the last time Taylor was considered purely a country artist, maybe LP1 era ? Since then, she's always been considered a crossover country-pop artist. Fearless was a good combination of both, however SN had the lack of pop impact and Red had the lack of country impact..
I'm open to discussions, feel free to reply

And by turning to watered down Katy Perry is a good thing? So ****ing what if GP doesn't like Her? She has people who love Her already. What the **** is this thing about getting everyone to bandwagon? If you want to be loved by GP, you need to be as vanilla as possible. What makes Her unique at the first place was by NOT being interchangeable.
Commercial success HAS to be second after GOOD music. Never the other way around.
If they like Her, good. If they don't like Her, ****ing fine either. Which part of this you don't get?

OK
Just wondering, do you really think GP considers her a credible artist? I don't think so, actually some'd even say she's = Justin Bieber, unfortunalely.. Her status may change for the critics, i cant say you're wrong here, but do you think music critics has an affect on GP? I'd say they are not, especially in the case of Taylor Swift, since she's got usually good reviews for her albums every time comparing her to pop artists, however she was seen even worse than most of them by GP.

Yes, I know for a fact many people at my school, those who love pop and even the indie-hipster prancers, listen to Taylor because they know she delivers.. I strongly believe that many people see her as one of the more talented artist of this decade, especially among the other current females.

mte, she gets great reviews on her albums but all people can see is her whining and boy songs.
I love her love songs but I wouldnt mind some variety in her albums as long as it's not 22..

When I was 15, I loved Taylor becaude I fekt understood everytime I heard Her music. I knew She was popular, and yet I didn't care fr the sales. I never heard Her on the radio. I was just happy that after a hard day, I could get home and listen to someone that spoke for me, that told everyone how I felt. And I don't want that to ever change
