But you're right. After ...Baby One More Time, she only had a few top ten songs( "(You Drive Me) Crazy," "Oops... I Did It Again," and "Toxic") until "Gimme More," which charted at #3. Her singles as of late have been more successful with "Womanizer" at #1, "Circus" at #3 and "HIAM" at #1 , well until TTWE.

I mean, even "3" and HIAM debuted at number 1 and sunk off the chart.

Well, I hope that one day you may actually read and absorb someone's opinion that is different from your own and put forth some intelligent response that benefits humanity.

I admit to being wrong about Gaga's international sales. She does seem to be a worldwide contender in regards to single sales. I am not sure how much she has sold internationally without U.S. inclusion, and I am not sure how much she has sold since certifications apparently aren't regulated, and up to date either.

Various singles weren't released or weren't released in popular formats in regards to single sales. There were various times Jive didn't release CD singles to aid Britney's chart positions the two obvious cases were with Sometimes and Lucky which were airplay only releases, and didn't have single sales to aid them. The only time Jive released her singles were when they were in risk of flopping completely (i.e. From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart and Stronger). But they generally did not release CD singles to help the songs chart progression. They were more interested in album sales. Britney's early chart placements aren't the best places to look in terms of impact for that reason since they were obviously hindered.

Isn't Elvis presley still considered The KING now and that despite Michael?
Isn't Michael Jackson still considered The King of Pop and that despite Justin Timberlake?
Isn't James brown still considered The Godfather of soul despite Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding and some?
Isn't Aretha Franklin still considered The Queen of Soul despite Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse?
Isn't Whitney still considered The Voice despite Mariah and the fact that she totally lost it?

Notice that I choose that barely sell albums anymore and have a little to no exposure on the charts and in the media.

Something you must know about the music industry is that whenever you win a tittle and that everybody reagard you as such, you can share it with somebody else later, but you can NEVER EVER loose that tittle.

It is hardly a fact. This entire music industry you're referring to exists within the last 50 years.

People 100 years ago might have though Beethoven was the God of Music. But what do people think he is now? A classical colossus, if anything.

Narrowing your view of music to such a small period of time might be limiting your ability to see the changing opinions of people and times. None of these people are immune to losing their titles given enough time, I promise. Most people I know didn't seem to like referring to Michael Jackson as the King of Pop until after his death, despite the fact that he had acquired that nickname earlier in life. Death can affect such things, just as time may.
