I think Vera might retire at the end of the year. She's been slipping for months and after the Olympics she really doesn't have much left to play for. She seems disinterested, and it's showing in her results. I love her game but it's getting harder for her to compete because she's too lightweight.

I was convinced Marion would get to the QF at least because she's been playing really well. Zheng's compact strokes must have been bothersome to her. Petra really should get to the SF now, her draw has really opened up.
