Other thing i still don't get is how do you set the correct speed. I know photoshop automatically changes the speed from 0,05 to 0,07(which is too slow) and so on.

If you want to create a gif with more than 500 frames I recommend you Instagiffer. It's kinda complicated at the start, especially if you're used to use PS, but gifs looks more polished and less grainy, and you can add more than 500 frames.

@Avariko I use a 500 frame sharpening action that I made myself. If your gif is over 500 frames but contain multiple scenes, I'd sharpen all the scenes individually and then put them all together, rather than running all the frames through at once.

That must've been a lot of work damn. I've found some action downloads online but they're always for like 50 frames and that's just not gonna work.

@Avariko: basically what Tori Kelly said.
this is the sharpening i used and it sharpens up to 289 frames (so you'll obviously have to do a certain amount of scenes individually then combine them all together). it doesnt take long tbh

Could someone give me some more insight on making an avi.

I'm struggling to do this.

I follow the steps in the OP, but my avi still comes out looking spotty and the quality suffers hard, especially like the resolution thing.

but you do crop correctly right and use HD only videos?
because sometimes a gif can be like messy if it has dead frames (basically duplicate frames of one frame and its so annoying to go through tbh but it only happens with videos that are 720 60' or stuff like that)
& also, what are your save settings? to make sure, i make save-to-web settings 'Selective Pattern' and make sure '256 colors' are always checked

i think its something with the way your cropping? because in your gif, its more... sucked in, if you know what i mean?
and in the video, the girl is more spread out (the one with curly hair). i'd say just select the whole frame, crop out the black parts, then crop (make sure its 125x for width and height). besides that, i dont see really anything wrong with your gif tbh

So I gotta crop twice?

Cause right now I'm just cropping out the black parts, image resize = 125 x 125 and that's it

yep, that's it tbh.
you have to crop more than once lol. like you crop the black parts out, but then you crop it down to the part you want to be seen.
if you just crop out the black parts and resize, it makes your gif smashed together and not the way you want it to be tbh

My gifs are 15/18 seconds max. +20 seconds are like too big. A lot of frames.

it is tbh!
it just depends on the sharpening you use. with the right sharpening, a regular 480 can look close to HD

Can you tell the difference between the first and second gif? The first one I requested and the second one I tried to recreate. But I think the first one looks more outlined and darker which I think makes the gif looks better.

Is there some way to fix this?
