I had the same problem (except the 80% of the times crashes ). I don't really find a solution but I think the Save for Web and Devices function will automatically delete the 39 frames. Did you try to save normally and not for Web and Devices?

No I didn't I always use the Web and Devices (I've never had any problems with it before) I'll try this next time.

Let me know how it works. I tried this thing yesterday, but even with 400 frames circa crashes when I click "Convert in Timeline".

Mine haven't crashed (yet) but it takes forever to load the frames and convert into timeline etc but it has always worked in the end.

Do you use video to frames or do you capture frames with a program like KMP Player. I use the frame capturing thing because the video thing doesn't work in my Photoshop Loading 500 frames into stack is so slow, I heard the other technique is a lot faster.

yeah lol it does. im sorry i just end up making separate gifs then sharpen them seperately then put them all together lol so it never really bothers me much? there's an action for over 500 frames i think that someone posted a few pages back tho

i use Video to Frames for mostly everything.
if i ever use KM Player, its for tv shows and movies (but it always crashes on me i havent been able to )
& it honestly is. but why doesn't it work, is it because of the dynama link (if that's the name of it lol)?

There's an even easier way, using the smartfilter. It helps changing all layers at once for example for sharpening reasons. No action needed.

I'm using the same method. But when I'm converting in timeline the gif is so fast. Then I save the gif, I opened the gif saved and changed the seconds from 0.03 to 0.04

do you want the gif at 0.03 or 0.04? if so, just make sure to change the speed on the whole gif and it'll stay that way for sure, i hope atleast

I can never re-open my gifs on Photoshop to change the speed because it's messes up with the coloring, It ends up looking like there's one of those Instagram filters on them . I always use Ezgif.com for that <3

Btw, isn't 0,03 - 0,04 way too fast?

Oh, and it says i gotta switch up to the 64-bit version of Photoshop when i try to use the video to frames thing but I don't have it (even though my PC is 64 bit)

Yeah and that's what I always done. When I convert in timeline the gif is very very fast (0,03) so I change the speed to 0,04 and voilà. When I change to 0,05 looks like the gif is in slow motion or idk. I will try to create another gif in 0,05 and will give you news

it does? i always re-open my gifs in photoshop (like if i missed up on text or whatever it is) and i never see a difference in coloring or quality? but i guess every photoshop is different tbh.
and aahh, i never heard of that site tbh lol but that's good you found a alternative! i make all my coloring through photoshop since all the layers/adjustments are right there lol.

& honestly, it depends. i always put my gifs on 0.04 because it makes them look smooth and fast but not too fast or too slow. most people do 0.05 or 0.06 tho, im just an extra mess lmao

& ooooohh okay i see the issue. your photoshop is a 32 version, and since your computer is 64, you need the 64 one to make every function work properly. now it all makes sense omg. did you buy photoshop (if so you can email them about it) or did you download it from somewhere? i would tell you where to find the 64 version but i would get a warning ()

but one time (for tumblr), i made a gifset in 0.05 and it played SO SLOW in my photoshop and in my head i was like 'ehhh this doesnt look how i wanted it to look' but then i got onto tumblr and the gif was playing pretty fast and i was so shook i thought its because photoshop takes so much memory that it makes it slower. i notice that when i use 0.04 (which i always do) and it plays weirdly slower in photoshop but whenever i upload it on imgur and here, the gif plays the speed i want it to play. its so weird but still, if you want try it out and share how it goes

So I made like 5 seperate gifs, saved them, then reopened and Copy/Pasted the frames into a one big gif and...



Reopening the gifs makes the quality go like this, it's grainy af also the colors are way too Red-ish This won't be an option for me unless this can be fixed somehow

You don't need to save the gifs and open them together in one file. What you do is make the 5 separated gifs, select all frames on the little frames menu and then copy frames. On the "joint" file, you select the last frame > paste frames > paste after selection. That way you won't lose quality.

Yeah, reopening and saving the gif a second time makes it grainy AF. This is how I do multiple scene avis:

Let's say I wanted this scene from the Into You MV:



and this one:



So I'd open up both those scenes in PS, and delete all the ones I didn't need. Then I'll select all the frames in one scene and then press "Copy frames.

Then I'd go to the next scene I want to paste the frames in. I'd select all the frames there, and press "Paste frames". You'll get this:



Hit "Paste After selection".

That's how I do it, sorry if this wasn't clear because I'm a bad explainer

What sharpening setting ya'll use? do ya'll use any of those sharepning actions or just smart sharpen. I Noticed that when i convert the frames into a timeline animation the 500 frame limit happens. but without it i can have all the frames in my gif but can't sharpen.


about 540 frames in this one but it's obviously unsharpened

Other thing i still don't get is how do you set the correct speed. I know photoshop automatically changes the speed from 0,05 to 0,07(which is too slow) and so on.

Also, sorry for constant bitching about this same damn thing
