i work with a trump supporter and i (mistakenly) asked him why he supported trump and all he could tell me was that "illegals are taking over the country to the point i dont even recognize america anymore," there was no other argument he had the xenophobia was so real i just walked away

I think the average age of ATRL is probably around 19 or 20. That being said I have a lot of friends on here that are older than 25. I see no problem with people in their late 20s being on ATRL. The politics thread however is the best place for people of all ages to discuss. Im actually very surprised that so many people in their teens and 20s even care about this races as much as I do..

I know illegal immigration is the hot button issue, but as someone who has international friends from college who struggled to get work in the US after school despite having technical degrees (think STEM degrees), being more than qualified, and really wanting to move here, it's immensely frustrating to see this part of the issue go undiscussed during the Dem debates. I mean I think the GOP has discussed it more than the Dems have.

Honestly, while I understand the plight of many illegal immigrants, I do find it incredibly unfair that people want a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants when there are so many skilled foreign workers who struggle and spend years trying to immigrate through the correct and legal channels, and are unsuccessful.

These are the people we should be welcoming into the country with open arms.

A good article again on why Clinton (and supporters like myself) support holding gun manufacturers liable for deaths with their product. It's just wrong that they could get away with that because of bills that give them immunity. One area (out of many) on guns where Sanders is completely wrong

From my perspective, the H-1b program is being abused. It's only supposed to be used to bring in people for specific skills, but it is being used for just general employees and freezing out new grads.
I think it should be adjusted to the job market and used for its specific purpose.

Glad to see someone else agrees.

It's the one of the few things that I prefer about Hillary versus Bernie. I believe Hillary is in favor of increasing the visa cap, which I think would be beneficial.

Yeah, I just read that and was confused too. He wants to have it both ways. He wants superdelegates to back him in states he won, but the superdelegates in states Clinton won should reconsider. Desperation.

Sanders is grasping for air at this point. He won like 10 states. If he got the super delegates for those states, he still won't gain that much to overtake Hillary's pledged & super delegates.

And they didn't do that for the last elections. Why know? I really dislike that about him. You're new to this party. Don't come and change our rules, policies, etc. Idc if u disagree.
