Like being better than Stronger is a difficult accomplishment.
Stronger was actually a really good album. There were parts where it really struggled (Einstein being the most obvious one). But, when Stronger, Let Me Down, and You Love Me came on >>>>>>
^yeah, I never understood the distaste for Stronger either. I mean, it won her a grammy and was an overall more successful era than MD and AIEW combined.
I took a look to see which seven songs she was responsible for writing on Stronger. Not sure why a few of you are upset that she wrote less for PBP because I sure as hell don't want any more Hellos, YCWs, Einsteins, and SIFOYs.
YLM was amazing though and remains the best on the album
Why does most of this base hate Stronger? It's solid.
I don't think its standout tracks are as strong as the ones from most of her other albums, but as a whole I think it's a great album... Better than AIEW.
They're flops. I think people disregard it because we heard more than half the album before it came out and it took half the fun out of it and the era. Don't let the gorls fool you, they were creaming themselves and praising it to the heavens when it leaked. The only exceptions were Einstein and MKIA, honestly. Those were huge disappointments for many, but Einstein much more so than MKIA.
Yeah, it's a solid album but got old fast because we heard so much of it beforehand. Still great though.
We heard Dark Side like a year and a half before it was even a single.
I think Stronger is a solid album, I love it. Over time it hasn't had quite as much longevity for me as her other albums have had, but I still like it. It's just got some filler.
I'm still pissed at the final version of SIFOY, when the demo was so great and unique.
Worst part about Stronger was the ballads.. She didn't serve AT ALL. SIFOY & BYOH are boring af. The War Is Over is amazing though. Some fans consider it more of a mid tempo kinda thing though. I mean, Breakaway had Because of You, My December had Sober, AIEW had Cry/AG, Stronger didn't have a great ballad.
I can't with the SIFOY and BYOH hate. Can y'all actually relate to those songs? Because I honestly can and we all know how songs can speak to you when they sound like they're written to your exact situation. They're some of my favorites on the entire album for that reason. The lack of production enhances the songs for me. It's just the right amount and she emotes so well.
