Fast forward to 5:10. Gaga says Sexxx Dreams and Applause were the top contenders for first single. I'm so confused about how the first single was chosen since Jeff and Dave said Applause was chosen as the lead single in 2012.
It could have been a throw up till the very last minute, to be honest. I'm glad Sex Dreams wasn't the lead now, since I doubt it would have done overly well, honestly.
Do you think we are going to get some promo or something before Venus comes out (October 27th)? It's more than a 2 weeks gap from now to the single.
There's an album listening party in Belgium (?) on October 24th which she'll be attending, so I guess a lot of the promo for Venus will be worldwide promo, not just US.

I agree. I love it and I'm sure the studio version will slay but I don't think it's lead single material. Though a lot of us were frustrated when Applause was released, I can understand why Jimmy/Gaga/Interscope chose it as the first single now.
I also hope she doesn't waste her time with US promo for Venus, or not a lot anyway, she can promote it post-album in the US. Applause has shown she can have a stable hit without it and she needs to put effort into getting herself back on her feet in places like Europe and Australia.
