There are great female songwriters of course Noone is taking that away but the fact you have Taylor Swift on here is just

As someone who in previous comment stated that there is much more legendary male songwriters than female and that we ladies have to step up our game, I would argue that for example Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Billie Holiday, Kate Bush, Joni Mitchell, Nico and so on are at least as good as them.

I don't like the third one very much, but yes, I understand that they have written some great songs. And so has Mariah. There have been several comments about MC writing "kitsch" and while some of her singles are occasionally kitschy, she also has a ton of songs with incredible lyrics. Every songwriter on this list is going to have some songs that are better than others, but Mars' comment about female songwriters is misogynistic and absolutely ridiculous given the fact that many MC songs are (objectively) better written than many Lennon/McCartney songs.

Actually different artists have different methods when writing a song. Some people make the beat first and the add the lyrics, whereas others put music to the words they've written. Some people create the melody and words at the same time.
