She also dances better, not much, but still does. Katy is a good songwriter, and plays a guitar, I'll give her that. But overall, I still think they are around on the same level, but overall, I think Rihanna is better singer/entertainer than Katy.

Rihanna's vocals are pretty much the equilivant to Katy's.

Anyone putting Britney at the bottom
Her impact during her first 5 years in pop music was undeniably the best we had since Madonna. Not even Lady Gaga could top that. Her public breakdown, if not the most followed was one of the most followed celebrity stories of the last decade. Everbody knows who Britney and from people I know, she's always on top of other pop artists even Beyonce and Gaga. She's maybe not as amazing as her prime but EVERYBODY puts her above Gaga and Beyonce. She tops Beyonce easily, as for Gaga.. she may be the it girl right now but Britney will always be up there as the best female artist of the last decade. Most of her fans are now in their early 20s and they are still die hard fans till now.
Madonna, Michael
Britney
Beyonce, Gaga
Rihanna, Katy
Kesha, Nicki
The rest.

Too bad the general public doesn't give a **** about your singles perform on Billboard. Enjoy your WP. ooop...
Rihanna is only pitted against Beyoncé because
A. She's a black singer
B. She's affiliated with Jay-Z

But the general public are the ones buying the songs off Itunes, listening to them on the radio, and voting for them at award shows.

Nope, not even close. Rihanna has a nicer tone, much better control over her voice, and she can do really good belts from upper chest register while Katy can't. Rihanna can even do powerhouse belts when she tries. Their range is about the same, Rihanna's slightly better. Katy has flawless falsetto tone, when she does it right tho.

That is simply not even close to being true.
I despair when I see comments like this.

true. every artist has her or his own 'breakdown" or like weak era or something
Mariah had TRL and Glitter
Madonna had American Life
but they are still here and still being loved by the public.

To be honest, I highly doubt that the majority of the general public vote for artists at awards shows like the VMAs, EMAs and other fan polls, the main bulk of the voting comes from stans.

That's just the general public supporting what they like to hear. I really doubt the average person knows how many #1s Katy got with TD or is sitting on iTunes looking at her Popbars.

Britney was the female artist that defined the last decade, and her place in The Trinity remains secure as ever. I swear Gaga stans are really trying it right now and embarassing themselves while doing so

I definitely agree but I think this is definitely based on talent, numbers and impact. Ciara may have talent but she didn't have impact or sales to be apart or even be together with the 4 girls below.

I'm surprised you ranked Gaga that high.
I thought you didn't really care for her/didn't think she was anything special.
