Maybe PI really is about the superficial illusions of the world and social media in particular. When she said that in the radio interview, I thought it was a cover because she didn't want to throw Taylor under the bus.
I think a slow tempo version of this would sound so much better. It's like too much is happening in those 3 minutes, neither her vocals get to shine nor the instrumental, while both are good individually.
My thoughts when I heard an acoustic cover of this song by some Youtube guy.
I would be SO pressed if that was all it took.
That would maybe keep you charts fans away so we can enjoy this song even more
