A little late, but I'm doing it anyway.
I first thought "What Makes You Beautiful" was kind of basic. It was nice, but nothing about it jumped out at me. It was only when someone played the song on guitar (trying to show how they copied the melody from
Grease), that the song actually started growing on me. I went back to the song after "One Thing" was released, and both encouraged me to get the album.
I now think it's a really good song. Perfect surf-pop!
I remember when I first saw the video, their 'touchy-feely'-ness stood out. That's all I remember from the first time I watched the video.
I wouldn't change anything, actually. It became the foundation to their sound, and while they have better songs that are WMYB clones, we can all credit WMYB for those songs. So nope, wouldn't change a thing!
