If you think ooh la la proves that britney cant sell, maybe you should check the chart positions of other singer who did children movie soundtracks. Britney actually did well compared to other major stars. The song with no promotion went #1 in south korea.

I agree. The last iconic performance was in 2003 with Madonna and Britney, and even though they probably did kiss for attention, it was came across as authentic. Now everything comes across as try hard and desperate.

LOL , with 13 years of career at that time and with a 7th studio album, Britney's "Hold it against me" opened with 411K

with just 5 years of career and just her 3rd studio album, Gaga's "Applause" opened with 218K (lower than Ariana Grande)


Gaga won't ever get a 7th studio album and if she gets one it will open with like 30K

Applause was rushed out a week before its scheduled date. For a leaked/rushed first week and a lyrically atypical (for hot 100) song I think it's doing well.

Besides, a flop single isn't a good induction of a struggling career. Gaga just came out of a $170 million grossing tour (with a significant portion cut due to injury) and her last album was pretty successful. A flop album and a 50+% tour tickets sales decline are strong inductions of an expired popstar.
