Yes but I wouldn't think of Gaga when watching Disturbia, I don't see how Disturbia somehow displays what Gaga is doing now. I know your not saying Gaga copied her, but Distirbia doesn't say 'Gaga' to me...

Funny, because the things gaga fans (yes I'm grouping again, sue me.) and apparently mtv calling out other artists on things... don't say 'Gaga' to me. :/

Honest, if Rih fans are saying she started it all or not, I'm going to have to agree and say she revamped the "dark" and "edgy" feel/look in the pop industry. That's just my opinion, anyway.
I mean... when Gaga first started out... I didn't see her talking about monsters and having blood everywhere and all this dark **** that came out of no where :/

I kinda do in a weird sorta kinda way. Even though they both do dark images more frequently than their contemporaries they DO have their own niche which makes it possible for both of them to do the same thing and make it correlate. Look at The Fame Monster/ratedR era. Both women wore dark weird outfits that conveyed the same theme but it was hard to say that one was copying the other. Rihanna is more weird, crazy sexy and Gaga is more weird, crazy and tried to make herself seem ugly purposely as a way of going against the social norm in a sense.

but in Katy's defense, this is not who she is, she is just trying to play out the theme of her video not trying to create a new image for herself but people will easily associate it with gaga because thats not what Katy is.
