Songbars are a small set of graphic to be placed at the bottom of posts, on
a friend's wall, in blog entries, after a post in YTT... basically anywhere

The concept combines an ATRL user's love of music, logging plays on
last.fm, seeing what others listen to, and just being social around ATRL.
Each user's songbar would link to a specific song that they're liking at that
moment. Other users could then check out these songbars, listen to the songs
for themselves, and then if they'd like, post on their wall telling them what
they thought of it, and even direct them to their own songbar.

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴅᴏᴇs ɪᴛ ʟᴏᴏᴋ ʟɪᴋᴇ?

My songbar could mean anything... basically it's up to the user! It'd be
a way to showcase their creativity. If needed, songbars could even be
commissioned. Essentially it'd just be a small bar for posting that links
to a song, as well as that user's wall for quick feedback.

Here's an example I made up:



Simple, concise, and easy to use, or ignore if necessary. Using this
simple code it would only be too easy to change the link to a new song
every other day or week. It's the perfect way to find out who else on ATRL
has similar tastes to your own, and you may even find out of a new artist
or song that you've never heard of that you really enjoy! Sharing music and
bringing ATRL closer together... what could be better than that?

Why Will Users Use Join In?

The word "liquidate" is a real verb and it means "eliminate, typically by violent means; kill." The standard ATRL user is a homosexual young adult that wants their favorite pop artist to be number one. With words like "slay" that have a similar meaning and are already used on the site, this word fits perfectly for the average ATRL user. Suppose someone sees their fave win a Grammy, that member can then use the word "liquidate" to say that their fave is destroying the game, basically. This word isn't restricted to one use. Suppose you see a man/woman who looks so fine you want to have sex with you, you can say you want that person to liquidate you or you want to liquidate them. Even if you're a user forever perched in HQ (lol me) you can thank the mods for liquidating that one member who is forever obnoxious. With many uses, Liquidate is a word for any ATRL user, or really, just any person out there.

Everyone on ATRL is always trying to be "iconic" and "ahead of the game," so I feel like this little touch could make everyone iconic in their own special way.

There is not a smiley for every single emotion you feel and that's where the trend comes in. For example
one might say :cringe: in response to a super cringe-worthy post. Or one might say :FlopsIntoOblivion:
after a large single flops. Some other ones i came up with include :gamemode/ARTPOP: and :reportsthread:.

I think ATRL would love this trend because it would get rid of those :gross: hashtags. And while some
ATRLers already do this, they do not use it in the :ridiculous: and :Overthetop: beauty that it should be.

I Think members of ATRL Would follow this trend, because not only can you give a good kii from it, but you're also able to emphasize your point quickly, with little effort.

For my trend, I decided to go with something that *has* been done before, but wasn't a trend. Taken from H-I-M's rotating avatars he used to use, mine works a bit differently.

How does it work?

Basically, You use a site to compile a series of different images (png, jpg, gif) to be displayed under 1 URL. In turn, this causes a different image to be displayed every time you refresh the page. The site has 2 sections (Avatar & Signature), but the actual possibilities of what you are able to do with this far exceeds signatures and avatars, and that's what separates this trend from what H-I-M did with his avatars.

How can it be used?

Have you ever seen a post or thread that you had a few different gifs you wanted to use as a response, but could not choose which? Why not use all of them! With rotating pictures, you can use 1 URL for many different gifs, and it will change every time you refresh the page. Different people can even see different gifs while looking at the same page!

Suppose you have a specific way you want to end your posts, but you have a few different ideas. A classy, cursive signature? A vibrant, colorful explosion of unreadable text? Or maybe #PromoteOnlineKindness written from a Blingee generator? You could do ALL of those, and never have to use more than 1 url at the end of a post. It's great for showing off your many different sides.

If none of these happen to be your cup of tea, you can still use the rotating avatars as well. No longer do you have to be torn as to which avatar you want to wear, since you can wear them ALL.

Why would ATRLers like this trend?

The trend is not just for a laugh like many trends (although there are uses for that), but it's also very practical. It eliminates problems such as what avatar to use, and it gives more personality to the people who use them. It's a lot easier for trends to catch on when they have legitimate uses...look at the invention of the automobile.

We've yet to see this in action...
