I think critics are pointless really, it's all a matter of opinion.
An album will a terrible critic score isn't going to stop me from buying. And an album with high critic score isn't going to make me want to buy it.
Yes coz at the most part, critical acclaim doesn't come along with commercial features or not manufactured that way. Artists like Kanye and Alicia manage to balance between those two and that's why they're reaching their target but Kanye's new album is clearly weighing more at quality coz it's not very appealing to the mass.
Everyone has their own opinions and that's essential for most artists. People can't be buying only albums from those who are critically acclaimed. Humans are diverse and we're not the same. The same goes with sexuality, some are gay, straight, bi, etc and they not only love woman, but also man, etc.
That's why ugly people can also get married coz they got other things to back it up. Talking about Kesha, it's her beat and party anthems
