Historically the Middle East up to a very recent point (the Israelo-Palestinian conflict) had been much more accepting towards the Jews compared to Europe. It's not a coincidence imo that the biggest genocide against the Jews (as well as other populations of course) originated in Europe.

There's a huge difference between a hijab and a niqab & burqa.

I've known Muslims who wore hijabs and had no problem with them because at least you can see their face, i'm sorry but wearing an outfit where you can only see your eyes (barely even that in burqas) is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed in western countries.

BTW you can't be racist towards towards Muslims considering there are Muslims of all races.

So we're just going to completely ignore the fact that the reason the Crusades started in the first place was because the Turks were threatening Christendom? The Muslims conquests that captured Jerusalem in the first place? The threat to Costantinople? That is, it was a response to a provocation? Is France to beat their breasts for bombing Syria after the attacks? The US for declaring their war on terror (however poorly executed) after 9/11?

what provocation? they were wars just like any other war... The crusades started because the emperor of constanitople called them in, very soon the crusaders become unruly and 100 later the sacked Constantinople and destroyed everything there, a fellow christian country

The provocations I just described.
In any case, my original point was that there's always been friction between the two worlds, it's nothing new.

What's new is that the West stopped fighting back, the wave is getting stronger and the concessions more and more frequent. Things like what happened in Ticino come as a relief because at least some places are putting a foot down and not accommodating oppressive and barbaric practices that are incompatible with modern rights & freedoms.

We should fight less abroad for so-called modern rights and freedoms and more on our own soil.

I actually couldn't agree more. Were it up to me, I'd let that area of the world deal with itself and clean house here.

You can't bring freedom to a people, you can't give it as a gift. Freedom needs to be fought for, it needs to be earned, it needs to be bled for. The Reformation, the French Revolution. Every first world country fought for its freedom and independence. Because first and foremost freedom is a DUTY. Before it is a right, it is a DUTY.
