But seriously, think about it. If a white person isn't supposed to use it, why is a black person using it--a word that defiled and degraded their ancestors? They did not fight through their suffrage for their successors to use the same damn words that kept them in slavery. A black person using that word is equivalent to defecating on their graves and legacy.

Words that people feel the need to reappropriate are never positive. That defeats the entire point of it. Words that are reappropriated are words that were used to hurt. People have done it with the word ****, *****, the f word, ****, fat, etc.
As far as it being a form of segregation for blacks to not want to hear whites say the n word. I don't agree at all. Why would they? That's not to say that white people today are responsible for slavery or anything like that but you really can't understand how it may sting for some blacks to hear white people say the n word? You can't understand why they wouldn't be okay with it? And you think it's wrong that they would want to prevent themselves from being hurt by it? Really? Damn.
