I haven't seen that. But, if your referring to me,
1. Not once did I state Katy isn't manufactured, every pop artist is, to an extent. I know she is.
2. I never said either album was totally one or the other, because that isn't the case. All I'm saying is OOTB is about being young, and struggling trying to find stability, whether that be through relationships, faith etc. Teenage Dream is about finding that stability in those things, and expressing what it feels like.

There is a confusion between "manufactured" and "controlled" by labels.

I think all singers are manufactured to fit the industry standards. The picture, interviews, music videos are all quite consistent with what has to appeal to the masses.

However, some singers are controlled by their labels and some are much freer artistic choices they make.

Beyonce is manufactured like any popstar but has more control over her career than many other singers.She was able to do the music she wanted on 4,to record an album in 2 weeks (B'day) or even to get pregnant in the middle of an era.Obviously she is not controlled by Sony.
