We'll have to disagree then sis. It seemed like it was always supposed to go in a different direction but it was executed terribly. Dupri gave her some of the worst productions of his career and had no idea how to produce her vocals, and then he took off all the other producers she worked with who could've saved it. And all the video vixen photoshoots.. the only good thing about that era were the performances IMO. It's still hard to believe that COM is one of the most expensive videos of all time.
20 at least has the bops and quality songs towards the end.
Realistically speaking people don't like it because it doesn't have a highlight like Feedback (even though I'd take Enjoy or Call On Me over it any day), because of the Urban section, to which most people don't relate, and because the era was her poorestly (? Is that a word?) handled. If we compare quality, people just use the first half of Discipline and that's it. The rest, most people hate. As for 20, I don't see anyone bashing any song specifically. It's a 'mediocre' album. Discipline goes below that, far below.
And let's not get into production details when Discipline sounds clearly rushed and unfinished. (And 20 got a Grammy nomination)
Sis u betta gather them hoez #justicefor20CopiesSold

I still can't believe Khia was actually on a Janet song.
And then the bitch had the nerve to complain
It was such a kii seeing her in the TV tho
Pharrell, Kwame, Dr. Dre, Kanye, Polow Da Don, etc. She was confirmed to work with them all but somehow none of their songs made it when Dupri took over.

FB is better then everything on 20NoNo. 20 has like the worst vocals ever. And it's too night and day. Disc is at least consistent. 20 is just consistently mediocre, with no real peaks.
20 has really bad vocals throughout most of the album. That is true. Specially on Daybreak - which would be a 10 if it wasn't for her whining.
But Discipline also has some bad vocals (2nite? Curtains? Discipline? The 1?) and consistent? Said no one ever. That is the last word that can describe it. I'd rather have no peaks like 20 than a peak and a horrible plummet.
20 YO has Take Care, one of Janet's BEST (the best!) ballads post-AFY. Jimmy & Terry produced the hell out of that song, the arrangement is so lovely. Sounds similar to Sensitivity by Ralph Tresvant.

I've been getting into Janet a lot lately That's The Way Love Goes has been one of my most played songs lately I've only heard the janet. and All For You albums in full though and some singles

It doesn't matter where you start, as long as you start. Getting into Janet's career and discography is a special type of satisfaction that everyone should experience.
