110 · FIFTH HARMONY, "BO$$"
Weeks on Chart: 4 Weeks
Peak Position: #10
Debut Date: July 19, 2014
Fifth Harmony had been struggling since last year to crack within the Top 100, and they still failed to do so. This time, Fifth Harmony released a funky track resembling Destiny's Child "Bills, Bills, Bills". Ultimately, this song is inferior but I appreciate the experiment the girls took.
♫ "You say that you a baller and I see you trying holla, but that ain't how I was brought up, next." ♫
2013: JONAS BROTHERS, "Pom Poms" |
 |
109 · LEA MICHELE, "Cannonball"
Weeks on Chart: 5 Weeks
Peak Position: #06
Debut Date: January 25, 2014
This year had been so heartbreaking for Lea Michele. Nevertheless, I believe she released good materials this year off her debut album. I've never been a fan of Glee, so I wasn't really expecting something great from Lea. Her debut single changed things though. Such a good pop bop.
♫ "And now I will start living today, today, today. I close the door. I got this new beginning and I will fly. I'll fly like a cannonball." ♫
2013: CALVIN HARRIS f/ FLORENCE WELCH, "Sweet Nothing" |
 |
108 · KATY PERRY, "This Is How We Do"
Weeks on Chart: 7 Weeks
Peak Position: #11
Debut Date: August 2, 2014
Katy Perry had a gigantic era with the "Teenage Dream" singles. Sadly, the follow-up era was definitely underwhelming. "This Is How We Do" is a good track and sounds different from past Katy singles. However, it's too forgettable. Hope Katy gets back on track any time sooner.
♫ "This is how we do, yeah, chillin' laid back. Straight stuntin', yeah, we do it like that. This is how we do, do do do do. This is how we do." ♫
2013: JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE f/ JAY-Z, "Suit And Tie" |
 |
107 · CASH CASH f/ BEBE REXHA, "Take Me Home"
Weeks on Chart: 2 Weeks
Peak Position: #15
Debut Date: March 22, 2014
The past few years had been the summit of EDM. Gracing the list for the first time is Cash Cash with guest vocals from Bebe Rexha. Compared to EDM releases from other EDM artists, this might not be that remarkable. Yes, the production was impressive, but it just lacks spark. On the other hand, Bebe Rexha delivered such killer vocals.
♫ "But I still stay cause you're the only thing I know. So won't you take, oh, won't you take me home. Take me home, home, home." ♫
2013: HOT CHELLE RAE, "Hung Up" |
 |
106 · JAKE MILLER, "First Flight Home"
Weeks on Chart: 6 Weeks
Peak Position: #07
Debut Date: October 25, 2014
I first came across Jake Miller last year with "A Million Lives". I liked the fusion of pop and rap, but this track exemplified more of what Jake can deliver. "First Flight Home" showcased great and catchy chorus, coupled with charming rap verses. If only I came across to it earlier, it probably deserved some spot in the Top 100.
♫ "I'll be home in no time. I promise when I touch down it'll be like I never left singing." ♫
2013: LAWSON f/ B.o.B, "Brokenhearted" |
 |
ED SHEERAN, "Thinking Out Loud"
JOHN LEGEND, "All Of Me"
MICHAEL JACKSON f/ JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, "Love Never Felt So Good"
SARA BAREILLES, "I Choose You"
THE VAMPS f/ DEMI LOVATO, "Somebody To You" |
