I have never seen him advocate lgbt rights. Why should lgbt magazines cover an artist who is so silent on furthering our cause. Besides he is really overated imo, if you are gonna be silent on the gay community when you should be speaking out for them then don't be suprised when you are given the same treatment when it comes to promoing your album for you.

The man is VERY private but...
He addressed his support for same-sex marriage in 2011 on his first project.
He shared his experience with being in love with a man (it shouldn't matter when that is either). The critics who first heard Channel Orange reported about his sexuality BEFORE the letter came out, so that was really only to address the situation. It wasn't about gaining publicity even though it did.
Now, the man was mute for 4 years but the two times he publically addressed us this year he acknowledged his sexuality. 1) He talked about how Prince and his gender fluidity helped him come to terms with his sexuality and 2) He talked about how his "brothers" are being killed for their sexuality and how many people hate "us" but we need to stick together.
His two new projects also acknowledge his relationships with men again and he even samples Crystal LeBeija (a trans woman) on Endless.
