The 'LGBT' acronym is just a useful/easy of referring to people who are not straight or cisgender. It encompasses more than just those letters. If we wanted to label him, Frank is clearly bisexual. His reasons for not wanting to adopt that are his own, labels can be highly charged and come with expectations he may not want to carry. But the man is clearly not heterosexual, and let the world know with that letter.

Why isn't this "enough"? Or was he supposed to parade down the street in a speedo with two drag queens on each arm? Was he supposed to do a half naked shoot for Out Magazine? Was he supposed to write a corny song about how he loves his gay fans?

If he was naked on every LGBT magazine, some of these people would have had no problem.

When someone has no label, they specifically do not want to be identified or associated with anything. They don't want to be associated with the straight community, LGBT community, or any other identification communities regarding sexuality.

If he therefore wants no association with anything and hasn't gone out of his way to speak about anything LGBT, why should the LGBT community be running to cover him?

I'm more embarrassed by some Black people's constant need for validation. Sometimes it necessary i get it, but how many times are we going to beg and plea to get into the exclusive white club before we wake the hell up and realize they don't want us there. The man is VERY private but...

He addressed his support for same-sex marriage in 2011 on his first project.

He shared his experience with being in love with a man (it shouldn't matter when that is either). The critics who first heard Channel Orange reported about his sexuality BEFORE the letter came out, so that was really only to address the situation. It wasn't about gaining publicity even though it did.

Now, the man was mute for 4 years but the two times he publically addressed us this year he acknowledged his sexuality. 1) He talked about how Prince and his gender fluidity helped him come to terms with his sexuality and 2) He talked about how his "brothers" are being killed for their sexuality and how many people hate "us" but we need to stick together.

His two new projects also acknowledge his relationships with men again and he even samples Crystal LeBeija (a trans woman) on Endless.

He said the same as what David Bowie did back in the day. Lots of people don't like labels. He's still very much apart of the LGBT community.

While he might not have burst out of the closet vogueing. He has: referenced his love for a man, wrote a letter after Orlando where he calls gay men "my brothers", and his current album has more references to a relationship with men, what more do some of you want?
Maybe him not labelling himself, is his way of trying to remain on both sides and not totally alienate his urban listeners, maybe he really just doesn't want to label himself, but whatever reason, it is kinda pointless to question if he's associated with the LGBT community, because he clearly has.
