How is it taking away money from America? Unlike the majority of greedy Americans, illegal immigrants don't get health care, SSI benefits, food stamps, disability, etc. etc. The only thing I can think of is the gov't GOING OUT OF THEIR WAY to deport them. That goes back to the gov't causing the problem.
Wanna know what's draining the economy? Large corporations outsourcing. The elderly living on social security. Gov't raising taxes on the poor. People who can get job living off of welfare and government assistance. College kids not being able to pay back their loans because the ****ed up banking system. Families not being able to pay their mortgages because of the ****ed up housing system.

I'm a newbie here, and still trying to keep up with the topic. I don't really understand about the illegal immigration topic we talk here. But I agree with this statement about China's economic growth in the past few years. China has found a shortcut that the US forgot or never pay attention to, China followed the EU steps, they built a strong connection with the third world countries in a peaceful way, slowly take the advantage from it but never abandon them (there's even a documentary about it, but I forgot from which channel). While the US waste the money on wars and got nothing at the end. The US plays the game wrong this time.
The US is losing in every sector. The govs pay attention to other countries, instead of focusing on fixing the problems in economy & other public sectors. This is actually that cut the number of jobs, the illegal immigrants? Not so much, cause they can't get the legal jobs (full with insurance, etc. etc.) without legal documents. Then they get billed for it, and at cash rates which are much higher than insurance rates are. Are you really saying people shouldn't get helped when they're ill or injured just because they're not citizens or not financially stable? Or that people shouldn't get assistance to feed their children? You'd rather have people die or starve, just because they're not US citizens?
I don't know how things work in the US but in Australia, if you get here illegally by boat, the govt takes you in and gives you free (good quality) accommodation, English language classes, education and health cover and those people are also lucky enough to receive free internet and cigarette allowances during the time that they are being processed in the detention centre. which is all well and good for them but when you see how old people (who have lived here their whole life, fought for this country in war) are struggling to pay rent & utilities with their measly pension, it gets people angry because it just doesn't seem fair at all.
Additionally, for every illegal immigrant taken in by the Australian govt, one person in a refugee camp somewhere in the world (like Somalia, for example), is forced to wait longer before they can be accepted into the country. So yes, it is a drain on the economy and it also increases racial tensions.

Obvious flaws? But do you really understand where the flaws are coming from? You may be able to see that a strawberry has seeds. you can see that its red, and has a stem. But unless you taste it, you can't tell me whether it tastes good or bad. You can't tell me whether its bitter or sweet. Before you can fully understand something, you have to EXPERIENCE the effects of it.

If they're living and working here, this is basically their country. If anything, it's the people that are only here for visiting that shouldn't get helped. They don't claim this as their fulltime country, so they shouldn't get the benefits of it.
What would be the additional revenue for the US if we had taxable income for all those people that are immigrants? I'm not being bitchy, I'd actually be interested to know. And like I said earlier, I'd even be willing to increase taxes from what they are.

How many countries' do you know that do that? People will talk so much trash about America, but they still want a spot anyways. I'm proud to be an American and I have nothing against immigrants. My mom is an immigrant for god sakes. LOL. But before you come here, obtain a visa a wait your turn for citizenship like everyone else.
We don't get a lot of illegal immigrants in my part of Canada. But I know around the Pacific and Atlantic borders it's becoming a huge problem. I personally don't have a problem with it, as long as they are willing to contribute to the economy.

China is slowly climbing up the Top100, and when they uproot America from the #1 slot, there will be meltdowns all around the world
The situations are very different, China has pockets of huge wealth and vast expanses of almost third world style poverty, being an economic superpower does not always equate to a high standard of living.
