Same. Rebel Heart already feels like a life time ago (considering when it leaked ). Honestly I didn't even listen to the leaks cause I little interest in demos and unfinished scraps, but by the time the songs came out it was just people complaining about whether they liked the demo or finished versions better. The only demo I heard originally was "Rebel Heart", and it is shocking just how great that is compared to the dull, lifeless album version, but suppose she felt she had to do something radical to it to keep it fresh considering it is the title track. Completely ruined it though. It had lead-single quality prior to being butchered.
Are you telling me you've never let the light of Never Let You Go, the original version of S.E.X., and the unfinished bop Back That Up into your life?
Calm down. Rebel Heart was a lot of things, but it was definitely not a farewell album. It was self-reflective, but so are a lot of her albums. The only reason "farewell" comes up is her age and the fact that this is the most . But remember Cher is still putting out dance bops and selling out stadiums at 67 and Madonna has literally scoffed at the idea of retiring in all of the Rebel Heart interviews.
I'd wager that we have a good 4-5 year wait for the next album/tour, but she is not done yet.
Also her back catalogue is so rewarding and amazing, so just don't stress about new music and enjoy the hundreds of songs we do have.
Tbh, I just hate non-chronological greatest hits with a passion. I also only use greatest hits for artists I'm only casually interested in or for cds to play in the car. I never use the whole cds in my iTunes library. I'll just leave them as a 2-3 track album for the new songs included (or tack them onto a previous album if they fit thematically tbh)
GHV2 can go to hell, but Celebration is perfect for the younger generation to get into her (it's how I did it at age 14) and The Immaculate Collection is like a religious experience.

I know haha. Celebration was my first major intro to Madge beyond my mom just playing LAV occasionally when I was a kid so I do like it and it was fun listening to her songs in a random way, but it was kind of the equivalent of putting hers hits on shuffle.
