Calm down and be quiet. Nobody, despite all the endless discussion on this, is going to know the answer until tomorrow night. Until then you should really not anticipate so much.
I'm as excited as anyone but this much over one incomplete sales report is literally exhausting.
Not people thinking that 964,000 is 50.7% of her sales. If that were the case, there would be no point in releasing it in increments like this because people could just do the math and figure out the total sales. This just means that her sales currently stand at 964,000 based on 50.7% of retailers. It seems like the first update was the sales from Target (which were predicted to be ~400,000) and this second update was the sales from iTunes (which were predicted to be ~600,000). So now we are probably waiting on places like Walmart, Best Buy, FYE, Amazon, Google Play, etc.
Seeing the coorelation between the % and the numbers is juste mute, we ll never know how HDD compiles the chart, it just means Taylor sold 964k at least, it could be the final numbers

That being said fingers crossed for the record
They always compile the chart in the way that gives them the most clicks. Now more than ever i believe they get all of the sales instantly yet they choose to split them as they please for the sake of clicks
With Target and iTunes alone, Billboard had projected sales of 1.1 million. This figure is without other retailers. Both HDD and Billboard also projected 1.3 M+ 5 days into the album release and their predictions had been increasing all along. I can see 1.4 million+ as being a possibility. If 964,000 are actual sales on 50% of the retailers reporting, the other 50% must include at least some sales to make up for their earlier predictions.
