Europe has most of the relevant music markets (the UK, Germany, France, Spain etc.) and has many countries in such a small continent.
But just because an artist is successful in Europe that doesn't mean they're global.

Gay marriage is legal in 19 states... More and more states are making it legal in recent years. It's just a matter of time until it is legal throughout. The thing is we have state and federal laws, plus we are much bigger, which makes things like gay marriage a complicated issue.

Dating & Marriage

While marriage is increasingly seen as a completely optional "folkloric tradition" in Europe, it is still quite important in the USA (probably because religion is also more important there). Statistically Americans marry much more than Europeans, but also divorce more. Religion

Patriotism

Americans put much more emphasis on patriotism than Europeans. Being a patriot is a way of life in the USA. The term is rarely used in Europe.
Schooling

Schools and universities are free in most European countries. Europeans see university as granted, while American families often have to save for years for their children to attend one.

Europe itself has the greatest linguistic and cultural diversity of the Western world.

Well, Europe laid the blueprint down for all that.

Why are Europeans so insistent on covering up there reprehensible history with colonialism? Why are Europeans not fighting back against the racist/nationalist parties gaining power across Europe?
