I believe in communism, but it's almost impossible to implement communism in a modern society. Today everything is controlled by a few and if you try to make changes, it's obvious that the elite will make anything possible to destroy you and your government. With the support of the USA, they have destroyed many socialist/communist revolutions.I know Venezuela has many problems and since Chavez couldn't solve them at the beginning, he had very little options to do it now.
That being said, I was never a Chavez fan, but I respect his beliefs. He did many good things for Venezuela and Latin America. But as you said, he wasn't what Venezuela needed now.
