I had to left my own country (Venezuela) almost 5 years ago because of the insecurity, the inflation, the lack of groceries at the markets, the lack of liberty, etc... all of that because of that man.
Caracas is the worldwide city with the biggest amount of murders per day, also the most expensive city in America, as Venezuela has the biggest inflation in America.
And people says he was a good leader.

I'm so sad to know you had to leave your country, but you stop fighting for it and you shouldn't have done it. I will tell you something, I will fight for my country til I die, cause this is the place that watched me grow up, and I won't let anybody destroy it, you shouldn't have stopped fighting for a different country.

The thing with Chavez is that he knew that "helping" the poors was going to give him the biggest boost and the main reason why he won the elections was giving inmigrants a citizenship. Tons of colombians, peruvians, chinese and such people were lining outside the CNE before October, they got this pension that allows them to get free money even though they don't live here while venezuelans struggle to get one.

You are not allowed to take pics of him in the coffin.

You are somehow right but it is a vicious cycle.
Reggeaton culture affected our country, when it became popular that's when people thought it would be cool to carry guns and act like washed up gangsters buTTTT the poverty in places like Petare forced them to steal in order to survive also our connection with Colombia made worse the situation.
Overall, the insecurity is a mix of different things and the goverment didn't handle it like it should have been. When I visited US, I was amazed by their security, you can tell that their cops do excersise and get trained unlike our lazy fat ass FANB that wants (like most of venezuelans) easy money

Thank God! I agree our FANB sucks. Their members are always trying to get enough credit on their cellphones so they could call their girlfriends. Our leaders got to work on that. My grandma used to say that when Perez Jimenez was on the chair, the FAN was way too different. But that was a different time, Perez Jimenez was a dictator. We need a FANB like that.
It's easier to blame Chavez for our situation, but we don't take enough time to think what's really going on.

OMG I can't even start with that! Reggaeton affected the whole latin America, needless to say that it killed latin mainstream music.
Every person, and I can't even understand how every person of what you could say "poor" listens to that and the dumb lyrics has set the lifestyles of all ignorant young poor people and have caused major culture setbacks for our general culture. Honestly. So sad.

How much ignorance here. Obviously most of Venezuelans loved him. And he wasn't a dictator in spite of some non-democratic acts. He may have been wrong sometimes but he rocked for standing for what he believed in, sometimes having balls to confront America. And he cut the inequality in the country by 20%. When will the US do that? Never.
Although the following comparison is kind of a stretch, because these are two really different countries, it is not because some right wing folks don't like the Workers' Party that it's not widely recognized for changing Brazil. Same goes in Venezuela. And rich people will deal.
