Congrats that you use geometry or calculus everyday. The truth will remain that you don't NEED it ,unless you're perusing a career that involves it. They seem not to get it, though.

That could be said for EVERY class. Math still remains the most important subject, along with English.

Chemistry is 90% maths here.

We have learned about logarithms in Chemistry before maths in acid-base reactions and pH levels.

I feel like English is incredibly underrated in society. Many people in business, the sciences, and mathematics do not know how to write effectively. To make things even worse, English majors are ridiculed for their decision, with low starting salaries and a terrible reputation. It was once a well respected major, but now it is looked upon as a joke. Very sad.

Logs are the algebra I was talking about. When I went through chem, I'd only taken through Algebra II (I was actually in them at the same time) and I didn't need a single thing higher than that.

I mean, it's pretty much 90% math if you mean just working with ratios, with equations, with the results of reactions, but the higher math is usually reserved for the harder concepts in the class.

Yep. Chem 2 requires us to use integrals to derive equations. Pretty easy, especially since I've taken Calculus.

Wh would I encourage someone to be uneducated and in poverty? It's not a matter of me picking what others should do. It's just something that is expected of us. Why are you acting like people WANT to struggle in life? America is a prime example that the GP deeply desires hirer paying jobs in general.

I said that. Why should my school get to tell ME what should be required for what I want to do in life? The only math a regular person really needs to know is Basic Math (addition, subtraction,multiplication, division) & a little algebra. Kudos to you if you want to do more, but everyone shouldn't HAVE to.

English is the only subject that would help you with everything in life & is the only one that should actually be required.

That's just my opinion though.

+ (im not saying other jobs arent) but stem jobs helps the progression of society so much , and you get to affect so many lives in a positive way - alot of people find that more rewarding than the money - but for mimi that would drive him to suicide apparently
