With longevity or not, it's a flop. Terrible debut.
Not a underperformance, a F-L-O-P. He's coming from a huge era, had one of the biggest (if not the biggest?) hits of the decade, it's his comeback after 4 years, performed at the Superbowl
twice , 24k Tragic is a cute hit rn and yet he's struggling to do 150k SPS?
Lord, even Gaga who was coming from a flop era + backlash, PI being a huge flop, and with minimal promo until the album release week was able to do 200k
If anyone told me how things would turn out i would laugh.
The album is terrible and he'll be lucky if he scores more hits and have some longevity. But still, in 2016 after everything, he should be able to do 200k+ pure sales easily based on his name alone. And don't tell me "but he never had huge debuts!!!11!!!1". One would expect him to be far bigger today than he was in 2010 and 2012.
I mean sales are rough but still. Hopefully the era has longevity. I guess it's a very different sound from what's out there right now. Not tragic, but not what I was thinking he'd do.
