Can you actually argue that or just say "pressed," "deluded" or "we don't have to discuss that because you automatically lose?"
The three 1M+ weeks are not the same thing as what we were arguing about. I pointed out that female first week sales were not at their peak in 2000. Only 7 women debuted with 100k+ (your fave, Christina, put out two studio albums and neither debuted with 100k+ nor did legends like Mariah Carey with her Valentines EP and Celine Dion with her boxset, among many others). Only three women went #1 that year (Britney, Celine and Madonna). How can you prove female first week sales were at their peak in 2000?
If you're just going to post things like "deluded" or "YOU'RE PRESSED" or whatever, then please keep it to yourself. You haven't been able to follow our "argument," let alone formulate anything other than those three words. The irony lies in the fact that you're angry enough to post on my wall and asked to let me know when I respond to you.
And for the record, I didn't say I don't care. I've been a fan of Taylor's since 2006 (whereas you've been a fan since a week ago when she was a threat to a record held by an artist you don't like) and I'm a stan of Britney's. I'm invested in the outcome either way. However, I am not pressed. I think Taylor will do it and I'm happy for her. You could say I'm annoyed by bandwagoners like you, but that's not the same thing as "being pressed"

Right?
Britney was the 1st female to cross the 1 million mark on week #1 & only the SECOND female artist to do it at ALL (Whitney Houston crossed the million mark in a week but not her debut week).
The 2nd female artist to do it in week #1 was Norah Jones
Then, years later, Lady Gaga & Taylor Swift did it.
So, what I am getting at is, if it was so easy to sell a million records in week #1 back when Britney did it, why weren't there as many female artists having 1m+ debuts as there is NOW?!?

Out of the Woods should be 3rd, and Style 4th, hopefully.

As many? But it's only Taylor the one debuting with over 1 million three times in a row EVER. Who else is doing it, Gaga? Take away those ¢99 sales and she's nowhere near. It's just stupid to say it wasn't easier back in the early 00s when MULTIPLE acts were doing it (and even bigger numbers) to now that only Taylor is doing it, just because she's done it three times. Where's your damn common sense?
These britbots are just something else.

I think it's because of digital sales. You can get your favs album by sitting on the couch eating potato chips.
Back when Britney had her 1 million debut, you had to physically leave your house, go to a record store, hope the album wasn't already sold out & wait in line to buy the album. I skipped school to get the album & it took all day waiting at Best Buy to buy my 2 physical copies
1 million debuts are impressive, but back in the early 2000's it was tougher.
I skipped school 3 times in middle school to get N'Sync (which was sold out the first 2 stores I went to), Britney (waited in line before the store opened) & Eminem (waited in line before the store opened).

I really can't believe people are actually trying to debate the whole album sales then and now thing.
It's not up for debate. It's well documented. Numbers. Analytics. Statistics. Studies. Your stan logic doesn't hold up against that.
While it was truly impressive for Britney to pull in those kinds of numbers back then, it is even more impressive to do it now.

Cringe.
That's a cute little anecdote, but factor in music piracy and the hundreds of millions of dollars lost (if not more) because of it, and you'll find it goes deeper than buying an album physically vs. digitally.

Back in the early 2000's: 2 albums by female artists debuting with 1 million 1st weeks.
NOW: 4 albums by female artists debuting with 1 million 1st weeks.
In conclusion, there are TWICE as many albums by female artists debuting with 1 million 1st weeks than there were back in the early 2000's.
Can't argue with the numbers

The Lord will embrace the Queen graciously, after all she will sandwich her
1. Taylor Swift - 1989
2. Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again
3. Taylor Swift - Red

4 million debuts, 3 by Taylor and the other features an *.
Conclusion? Taylor dominates.
