Björk releases lead single, Arête

Title: Arête
Producer(s): Arca, Björk
Writer(s): Björk, Kate Bush
Length: 5:17/3:54 (radio edit only)
Genre(s): Trip Hop/Alternative Rock
Yesterday at midnight, Björk released her first song in ages called Arête which serves as the lead single for her 9th upcoming studio album. It had a particularly quiet release although many have expressed their anticipation for Björk's long-awaited yet inevitable comeback: "Shiiiiiit Björk the goddess is finally back!!! I have a reason to leave <3 #unravelmebitch" This single is definitely one of the most anticipated this year and it only gets better for the Icelandic musician. She has been teasing her new record with tweets like: "Stoicism; to endure pain or hardship in silence without any complaints" and "Cynicism; to deny that anything and anyone matters or is honest". These hints did not particularly make much sense at the time. Having said that, the message is definitely more clear now after knowing that Arête means "excellence of any kind" in Greek and was used frequently by the school of Stoicism - one of the greatest philosophies to have ever been put into practice. It seems as though Björk is exploring Ancient Greek culture this era and will really take a step back to create an introspective masterpiece. We assume that there are more elements to Björk's 9th upcoming studio album, however, it's far too early to tell.
The artwork depicts Björk sticking her tongue out in a relatively blasé manner while wearing an intricately-detailed mask which represents the façade that she tries to convey even though her facial expressions are probably the polar opposite to what's actually going on in her head. Björk's hair is tied back by the mask and is very messily worn. The text is simplistic but fits in with the rustic style she's going for this era. There's an explicit warning tag in the top left-hand corner because Arête does contain quite a bit of swearing and talks about topics that probably aren't appropriate for all ages and demographics. It's a more restrained approach from Björk's previous projects, from the likes of the bold Homogenic and the ambitious Biophilia. However, it does suit Björk and has the potential to be considered some of her best material.
The sound is extremely refreshing especially in this day and age. Nevertheless, it does take inspiration from bands like Massive Attack and Portishead. The single was produced by Arca who's known for his distinct trip hop sound with his best work being FKA Twigs' LP1. It sees Björk taking a melodic route (if you will) but still manages to remain flavourful and spontaneous like her groundbreaking record Medúlla back in 2004. Her roots does show with Arête as Björk delves deep into her past when she used to be the frontwoman of alternative rock band The Sugarcubes. Björk's vocals play around with the accompanied instrumental track, even sometimes pushing the boundaries of her own limitations. It has a more urban feel although it's still recognisable as a form of alternative rock but with more hip hop and slight grunge influences.
Radio has already picked up the Arca-produced track even though it's not getting as much adds as Catalyst Fall Records would've like. Nevertheless, this is great news on Björk's part since radio doesn't really embrace her as much as the critics do. This is proven by the radio edit; another version of which Arête is specifically cut down and it could be argued that they are constraining Björk's creative motif even if she approved the radio edit itself.
Björk's lead single, Arête is now available for PURCHASE.

Jordin Sparks release Lead/Comeback single : Double Tap
Length: 3:37
Label: Genesis Entertainment
Artist: Jordin Sparks
Genre: R&B/Hip Hop
Writers:Jordin Sparks, Tauheed Epps
Jordin, who recently ended her two-year relationship, has previously claimed to hold no hard feeling towards her former boyfriend.Jason, who has admitted to ending the relationship over the phone - recently claimed he had dumped Jordin because of a pressure to get married, but she refused to be drawn into a war of words with the 25-year-old singer, yet he released a song title "Marry Me" with her in the video. Now its 2015 and it her time to take shots. Jordin Sparks is ready to comeback with a new label and new life. Since Jason Derulo isn't in the picture she can focus on what her fans wants.
For about two weeks Jordin Sparks have been teasing a song called "Double Tap". She first performed the song on Dancing With The Stars and later that night she put up pre-orders on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play. Double Tap will be on her upcoming album "Right Here Right Now" set to be released later this year. Sparks described the song as "different" and "fun". This song does not only features a catchy rhythm but a well known rapper, 2 Chainz.
This song is in the top of the charts on iTunes due to pre-orders. Jordin completely strayed away from pop records like her well known "One Step At A Time" and "Battlefield". This route she is heading toward is RnB/Hip-Hop. Jordin previously released a song about a week ago titled "It Aint You" written by Ty Dolla,Herself and Dj Mustard, is the certain sound. Not to mention the new language she picked up during the break between her last album, which you will get to hear in this song. She is completely grown up from the kiddy bop music. She is now appealing to the club and digital crowd by correlating Instagram into her song
Double Tap is an not the usual formula for a Jordin Sparks song. It goes Verse>Hook>Chorus>Verse>Hook>Chorus>Rap/Verse>Hook>Chorus. Jordin does not show off her vocal capabilities in a bridge as heard in "One Wing" and even in "It Aint You". The beat to Double Tap remains steady and upbeat. A nice club jam to. Not to mention her new style on the cover. Something seducing and eye grabbing to people.
R&B/Hip Hop radios have picked up the songs and even a couple Pop stations. Starbucks,Rockstar Games and multiple other sponsors for Jordin is starting to to promote her single as well. This will mark Jordin's first full fledged comeback single leading toward her long awaited album Right Here Right Now which will also feature a couple collaborations and her well known ballads.
Double Tap is officially available to be purchased on digital outlets

Becky G Announces Partnership With ABC
Becky from the block is back with a fresh new album, Becky Gsus, and she's ready to slay. After the surprise release of her second studio album, it was announced that the petite popstar had struck a deal with cable channel ABC. What could this deal be, you may ask? Well, from this Sunday to next Saturday, ABC will air a new music video of a song from the album at 7 PM every night. The deal, a first of its kind, is one that Becky G is very grateful. "Back when I was younger and still trying to make it in the game, my family could only afford one channel on cable. That channel was ABC, so this experience has been really surreal for me to say the least." After a long wait, it seems like Becky G truly is back to slay.

Barbie has finally released her new single, Tech Freak. The song is the lead single to her new album. The song is the typical pop song about sex and love. Instead of releasing the song next week, she released it early. Her vocals have been compared to Britney Spears, and described as “soft but cute and enjoyable” by critics. Barbie has confirmed that the lyric video and music video will be released this month as well, and that the making of both videos will begin soon.
The song was produced by electronic dance music producer, Rogue. Unlike most of his other productions, the beat for Tech Freak is clearly made for a pop song that is screaming to be a hit instead of his usual dubstep. He also wrote the song.
In the chorus, Barbie sings the following sweet and softly:
Robotics and the beat together a-are great
Baby boy j-just ask me o-on a date, and don’t be late
Round and round the motions go, m-**********
Touch me, t-that’s the spot my little t-tech freak
Most critics have agreed that the chorus is anti-climatic and that they wanted more.
The song is only 69 cents for the first week its release, iTunes listed the song under “Hot Songs” to help promote the track. Barbie’s friends from WWE also helped promote the song by tweeting out an iTunes link to the song and hashtagging #TechFreakoniTunes. The hashtag ended up trending shortly after, and trended for 45 minutes.
Barbie also confirmed her promotion plans for the single in a twitLonger:
“I would honestly enjoy premiering the music video during Monday Night RAW or performing during the pre-show of a pay-per-view. WWE and I have issues right now but every issue can be fixed with the right amount of effort. I will obviously be doing talk shows. That’s all I have planned for now. I would also like to release a remix of the song, but the success of the main version will determine if that is something I will follow through with.”
Make sure you buy and listen to Barbie’s new single ,”Tech Freak” today! - https://soundcloud.com/barbie-blank-cal/tech-freak

Metamorph Remixes Part 2/Metamorph Dance Mix

Release: 1/3/2015
Artist: Azealia Banks
Tracklist:
1. Metamorph [So So Def Remix]
2. Metamorph [Dance Mix ft. Janet Jackson]
3. Metamorph [Dave Aude Remix]
4. Metamorph [The Magician Remix]
5. Metamorph [Calvin Harris Remix]
Azealia Banks has been near and far the past week promoting her single Metamorph. After a strong debut in the top 3 of the charts, it is clear this era for Azealia will be just as big, if not bigger, than the rest. Continuing to promote Metamorph this week, Azealia Banks just announced the release of her Metamorph remixes EP part two which hit iTunes immediately. the remix is full of surprises from the young rapper with remixes by Dave Aude, Calvin Harris, and even an appearance by none other than the legendary Janet Jackson. The release of the remix has been heavily fueled by controversy as people everywhere are still worried about whether or not Azealia will aplogize and make up with Junglepussy. With an upcoming appearance on an Oprah special, we may or may not find out what all the fuss is on these two.
When asked about the remix, Janet Jackson was quoted saying "It was truly a pleasure to be able to collaborate with such a true artist like Azealia Banks. She is someone who heavily inspires me artistically and I am honored for Azealia to ask me. I hope Azealia is also happy with how everything turned out, because I am more than happy. I'm sure fans will not be disappointed. Collaborating with Azealia was great. She is so kind in the studio, such a real and friendly person. One you can always trust and rely on. When she first wanted to do the song, she wrote me a letter. Didn't email me, she wrote a letter. That truly shows time and effort and made me think 'hey, this girl is someone who is truly great. I want to do something with her' and the rest is history. I hope we can do more things in the future because this was really great." The remix in which Janet Jackson sings on is being sent to night clubs and dance stations across the country. Surprisingly, even with lack of promotion, the remix featuring Janet Jackson has already entered iTunes' top twenty and is expected to stay there for a while due to high radio play.
Azealia Banks said the following about collaborating with Janet Jackson "I love some Janet Jackson. I remember being a little girl in Harlem and I would just dance to Together Again. Every day Janet inspires me. She is truly someone who continues to innovate and makes me want to continue outdoing myself and continue innovating. I admire her for that. I definitely feel that this won't be the last time I do a remix with Janet. We already filmed a music video and expect to premiere it this Tuesday. It'll be really awesome, I feel. Something everyone can really get down to, you know?" The remixes EP part two and the official remix featuring Janet Jackson have made their splash, appearing high on iTunes' charts. Hopefully this isn't all Azealia has planned this week. However, due to Azealia's track record, we can tell this won't be the last we hear from Azealia this week. Always having something up her sleeve, Azealia is one to be reckoned with and this spectacular remix EP proves it. Be sure to watch out for the upcoming music video as well as be sure to pre order The Dying Stars and buy Metamorph and its remixes today.

Today British darling, and a little bit of a rap diva Cher Lloyd dropped out of nowhere a surprise album on iTunes. No one could have told that Cher has both joined a new label, and was working on her album. So far Cher has not dropped any single from album but there is one on her head "Dirty Night" she has also shooted a video for it last week, and she is just so excited she collabrated with quite a lot of people on the album Cassie, Ciara, Lil' Kim, and also got a 2PAC written song a long time ago "Rags" she is just excited and she really hopes you like it, because she worked really hard, and is just full of excitment now.

This is Cher's 3rd album, and she really wants you to hear it because it's her first album since the tragic deal with EPIC, she hopes you like it, and will support her, buy now on iTunes.
