I'd say that Queen M and Queen E are the most famous ladies globally. Chinese villagers still play a lot of old MJ/Madonna music.

Angelina and Gaga are equally famous but a lot of old folks don't know them. Beyonce and Rihanna are still kind of local. Not that they are not famous in the eastern world but they just never had a super smash hit era over here.

I'd also argue that Hillary Clinton is more famous than Michelle Obama in the political world.

You seriously do not know Angela Merkel? I guess she is more of a Western figure but still.
