Maybe but it didn't become popular until teen stars and their fans started using it mainly on twitter. So technically it caught on because of Justin and Beliebers. Then everyone came up with ridiculous stuff like jonatics, lovatics, selenators etc etc. You mostly see teen stars' fanbases being mentioned by their fanbase name

The tour would have smashed and she would never go to The Voice. She would release **insert Lotus substitute here** in 2012 after the Bionic World Tour and would have flopped.

Now she would be on the 6th season of The Voice US.
