A man is so poor he cannot afford to feed his family. He robs a little corner store because that is his only option left. No one forced him to do it, it was his choice to rob.
Is it now right to rob a store, should we make it legal?
Now think about :
What harm does the prostitute does? None.
What harm does the thief does? Eventually cause panic in the store and make the owner of the store lose money.
They're still not the same thing, whish is why Bea's arguments make no sense and it's embarrassing itself. Legalize and regulate prostitution and I assure you that they won't blend as often..
It'll just go underground. If someone is desperate enough, the law means nothing to them.
How is it a choice when they are being forced by a pimp, family member or whoever. How is it a choice when it is that or lose their kids, shelter and be unable to put food on the table? How is it a choice when they are severely addicted to a drug and aren't able to get help?
so you're saying when hard times come "prostitution is inevitable"?
No, just because one is homeless doesn't mean one has to sell their body. Just because its hard to put food on the table doesn't mean one has to sell their body. These are choices people make, not forced into.

There are some prostitutes that are just on their own, though most have pimps.
And if they do resort to prostitution as a job, it's an illegal job, but it still gets food on the table. Imagine people who honestly have no other choice. Are you going to arrest them because they're just trying to get food for themselves or any kids they have? They get paid, the customer gets satisfied, and there's food for the prostitute. How is that a problem?

Yep.
I hate repeating myself, let me just bring up a quote

You are choosing what posts you read aren't you.
No, I already said that the kind of person who turns to prostitution is the kind of person who are forced to do it, people with no other options. If it is just you, you may not. But if people are relying on you some people really truly believe that they have no other option and making it legal will make that seem even more legitimate. It is not the answer.
Studies show that over 81% of prostitutes start out being raped by a family member or close friend BEFORE entering the business, and continually get raped there by "paying" cohorts. It's not that hard to understand
1. Those abused prostitutes usually don't go into prostitution willingly, they're dragged into it at early ages by pimps. Something that would not be an issue if the trade were legalized and regulated.
2. **** stars have issues, too. Oh but look, it's legal for them to **** on camera.
The presuming is the problem. No-one knows what has driven these women to this. They may give their consent to the man but if they have truly no other option and they would rather be doing anything but that...then is it still acceptable?
These men are never going to care about these girls lives and their back stories. No one cares to find out what drove them to this. Legalizing it will make it worse, they need help not encouragement to continue.
But what about the harm it does to the person that has no options left but to sell their body? What about the harm it does to THAT person.
But what if that person WANTS TO SELL THEIR BODY? Why do you have such a hard time comprehending the fact that there are people out there who actually want to do this?
