Dead. Morgan is saying that basically schools don't talk about black history outside of that month and that it's all regulated into one month. Which it is and if the month never existed, it'd probably never be talked about.

i am ****ing tired of people saying that we should ignore race.

that is exactly how racism is perpetuated. by ignoring race, we are fostering a belief that we live in a colorblind society, racism is limited, and you can achieve what you want by working hard at it. All the while, people continuing to hold racist beliefs.

We should not ignore racism. I am black. My life is affected because I am black. Don't tell me that it should be ignored.

I disagree, a conflict of views is occurring. Living in the north in a liberal area, blacks that work hard usually succeed to some degree. Hard work pays off. My parents are an example. They went from being hoodlums in the projects to starting and managing their own business, the same business that put me through private school for over 8 years.

Obviously. The fact that blacks have to worker harder is nobody's secret. That's not what I'm claiming at all. All I'm saying is that for those that blame others they need to actually do something, I know quite a few (hence why I said I'm speaking from personal experience).

Any person throughout my lifetime who has brought up my race in a negative tone or joking about something has been set straight by me in that instant. I read something about how asian agriculture wired hard work into asian culture as an important value. something about how rice fields require work 24/7 and that slacking would ruin the entire harvest. Also, asian language makes it easier to learn math because the numbers are easier to understand at a younger age. This makes the average elementary asian student ahead of the average western student in many aspects.

This could all be false, but I thought it was a nice theory.

tBut,There are actually subsections of the asian american community that suffer because of that stereotype.

SAT scores need to be higher than average for them to get into schools. They are basically expected to perform higher than the status quo, or not be accepted.
