Also interscope wanted DITD BUT GAGA WANTED ALEJANDRO
Also I never understood why gaga asked fans what song they wanted to pick as they 4th single and then she just chose YOU AND I

I think Interscope chose Y&I based on Gaga saying she was surprised that Y&I was the next single. If it was fan chosen Scheisse would've likely won. Granted at the same time BTW had such a massive variety that it somewhat split the fanbase. There would've still been a lot of dissapointed fans no matter what singles were chosen unless she actually made 9 singles.

Not too many, of course.

I think with BTW, the problem wasn't the amount because 5 is more than enough but it had to do with the song selection and timing of release. If I had picked them I would've done BTW, Scheisse, TEoG, MTN, Y&I, and HML. I think these 6 would've provided enough variety to appease all fanbases and sounds from the album.
TFM was just cut ridiculously short. There was no reason that DITD wasn't a single. It would've been the perfect closing song for TFM era, it would've led into BTW era and I think it had a lot of potential to be an iconic song for her.

But the thing is that Alejandro was an excellent decision, DID could had been a flop if it was released (look at MTN they soud similar IMO), Alejandro had a huge impact in latin america I remember everytime I turned on the radio it was on , It was bigger than Poker Face and Bad Romance here , It made her big here besides Alejandro was a hit all over Europe, so in this case GaGa took the right decision!

Fans always say DITD sounds like MTN thus it would've failed and while I see the comparisons. I disagree. MTN is a rather boring song without the accompanying visuals(her performance/music videos). I didn't like the song until I saw her performances and music video. MTN lacked a strong chorus and was slower than DITD, jmo.
