Rihanna collaborated on BC to cause controversy and to prove a point. Both she and Chris got what they wanted professionally from the Cake remix but on a personal level, it signified that Rihanna had forgiven him and that she was going to be civil towards him AND that her fans should do the same. Even after that he still had the nerve to take subliminal shots at her in Theraflu, and she's since blocked him on Twitter.

So even though the controversy was cheap, it's not her fault that Chris has said such horrible things about her. That is an unbelievably ignorant and moronic comment to make, especially coming from a woman herself.

Very well put. I won't understand why people find it so hard to see Rihanna forgive Chris. At the end of the day she can forgive but it was upto Chris to actually respect that but he clearly didn't. We all make mistakes and Rihanna forgave for whatever reason(primarily that she still loves/d him). How is Rihanna to blame?

I'm not quite sure how she should/is going to respond to whatever is taking place, but I'll assume that it will be carried out in a means that 'plays up' the public image that she's trying to convey.

If I were to be completely honest, I'd rather not bring myself to feel any empathy for her in this situation. She has had more than enough time to weed out and sever ties with those that leave, or have left, a negative impact on her life. I'd go so far as to say that she seems to have major codependency issues. Though, I can't help but to sympathize with her. It's fairly obvious that, with the renewal of their communication and possibly a subsequent "relationship" between the two, that something very intimate occurred between Rihanna and Chris Brown in recent times. Now he's throwing his weight around, knowing that it makes her tick.





...or Rihanna has absolutely no relevance to this situation, and these two boys could very well be referencing another industry female with a reciprocal connection between them.

Scenario #1: "Rihanna decides that she's going to forgive Chris personally in order for her to move on as a person and with her life/career."

My reaction -- Hey, if she feels she can do that, more power to her. Forgiveness is really more for yourself than anyone else. Just as long as she doesn't forget the gravity of what he did and make light of it when she willingly stood up as a role model for victims of abuse, then I don't see the harm in trying to move on.

Scenario #2: "Rihanna decides to collaborate with Chris professionally and exploits the controversy surrounding the incident exhaustively, even going so far as to accept Chris using aggressive sexual imagery in the lyrics, all the while essentially giving the finger to fans who expressed concern over the idea."
