How much yall wanna bet that the LMFAO collaboration "I love Miami" Is actually Natalia Kills feat LMFAO because she's touring with them apparently. I guess someone mixed up Natalia and Gaga for hype? But I guess we'll see
If it was 'I love Italy', then it would be a much more believable possibility.
This is an interesting read... Would thread it, but it wouldn't gather much attention at this time of day...

Here’s Madonna rehearsing some of her new live show. She’s singing’Express Yourself’ going into ‘Born This Way’ going into ‘She’s Not Me’.
It’s certainly true that Lady Gaga isn’t Madonna – her last single didn’t peak at Number 73, for a start – and we’re still a bit surprised that Madonna ever decided to get her hands dirty with this whole ‘debate’, because we expected that she’d sort of rise above it, not even address the tittle-tattle and glide on through like a supernatural pop entity. Still, in the light of Reductivegate, you can’t argue that this clip isn’t a pretty good pop moment.
It makes Lady Gaga look a bit silly, but do you know what? This is Lady Gaga’s own fault. It didn’t have to end up like this. Lady Gaga could have diffused all this over a year ago.
All she needed to do, when asked about the similarities between ‘Born This Way’ and ‘Express Yourself’, was say this:
“Well yes, it’s obviously an homage! I love Madonna.”
That would have done the trick.
That would instantly have been a big **** YOU to people running around the internet LOLing themselves to the point of seizure over the fact that one song sounded like another. Would the clip at the top of this post have even half the power if, somewhere in the last 15 months, Lady Gaga had uttered those nine words?
Yes, Lady Gaga should have said that even if it wasn’t true. Even if she genuinely was not influenced by ‘Express Yourself’. Even if it would have meant throwing some cash Madonna’s way. Even if Lady Gaga really didn’t think the two songs even sounded remotely similar, she should have accepted that she was in the minority (if not completely alone) and she should have lied. We know Lady Gaga doesn’t want to lie to her Monsters blah blah blah but in this instance it would have been in everybody’s best interests.
If she wanted to get a bit of a dig in she could have added:
I grew up listening to Madonna’s 80s hits, but that all happened 25 years ago and I wanted to update ‘Express Yourself’ for my generation, and for my fans. With my lyrics I wanted to really express myself and say the things in a song that Madonna still hasn’t said in her music.
SOMETHING LIKE THAT. We’re sure she could have come up with something better but along those lines. (Actually all that probably would have prompted a load of internet fury from upset Madonna fans, so it might have been best to keep it to the original nine-word statement.)
As it is, she insisted that the songs were completely different, and continues to look a bit silly. She looks a bit deluded, really.
It’s disappointing because the ‘Express Yourself’ nonsense – over a year on – is still overshadowing everything that was pretty amazing about the song (saving the gays, loads of stuff that didn’t sound anything like ‘Express Yourself’ etc etc) and the album as a whole, which continues to shine as a beacon of amazingness in the ****-filled swamp of LMFAOverloaded Top 40 LOLpop.
That's not even fair how they insinuate that she should have lied and said that she was inspired by Madonna's EY if she truly wasn't I get that they're talking hypothetically but I think that's a bit kiss ass tbh.

I think that the biggest mistake comes from Born This Way sounding remotely similar to Express Yourself in the first place. And if you remember, she used the word "retarded" to describe the comparisons.
I think they're right in that she opened herself up for this by avoiding the issue and not doing the proper damage control where it was needed. It was left to fester until Madonna came and blew up a media firestorm around it at the beginning.
I don't think she should have lied about it and said it WAS inspired by Madonna, even if it wasn't. However, she didn't cope with it well at all. And the legacy the song will have won't be just as an anthem for the outcasts, but.... well... you know...

I don't know how I feel about this... they're right, maybe?
Lady Gaga should NOT have said anything of the sort regarding BTW vs EY. She could have been more professional about it, but she should not have said anything about it being an homage.

You're right, I do agree she did handle it wrongly. Partly because she was offended. She let her emotions take over her when asked the question and retorted with a negative. Instead of turning it around into a positive like she usually does. She and her team should have definitely came up with a plan right when they heard about the similarities between the songs, that's partly their fault as well for not prepping on a proper way to handle the situation as well.
Also it is disappointing me that she used the term retarded to describe how she felt. Just because it kind of makes the BTW message feel a bit less important. (if she can say it so can I, mentality)

It would have came off wrong to the fans. I think she kind of wants to set herself apart from Madonna. Which is why she keeps naming Whitney and such as her inspirations. But tbh she's already done too much damage in that regard. She'll find a way over this hump though that's for sure.

No. It didn't even have to be like that.
There's an interview somewhere where an interviewer asked Kylie about a book that she did and how people were saying she was copying Madonna. She was like: "Yes, Madonna did a book. I did one too. I think they're different. And many other people have done books too.
She was very cordial about it.
Gaga could have done the same thing. The two songs have two similar chord progressions. I wanted to make a feel-good anthem as a message to stand up for what I believe in. They're two different songs.

That's true, I wonder why she was so mad about it though I just have the BIGGEST feeling in the world that she truly doesn't like Madonna

I think her feelings came to be like that because the initial reaction to BTW was "OMG, it's EY 2.0"
How would you feel if you thought it was your most important work to date, and its value was instantaneously diminished due to allegations of plagiarism?

Oh I'd definitely be nasty and bitter, but you know after BoomKack said that she made Gaga to be like Madonna she was fired soon after. I just feel that she's never really liked Madonna. Or at least that's how it's come off to me. Gaga and Cher worked together, but do you think Gaga would ask Madonna?
