I know Mark! And as always, his opinions are flawless. AIEW should have gotten all the promo and backing Stronger is getting. Would have put her back on top tbh.

I agree, but I also think this era has a lot of positive hype because of Kelly's weight loss and because of her new relationship. People like seeing a happier Kelly and respond well to it.
I like the production on DLMSY better but I like the chorus of LMD much better. They're both amazing songs, but I think I lean towards LMD cause it feels more mature and slightly darker

DLMSY is much more radio friendly and was a sure fire smash back then. It needed to be the 3rd single.
No because Katy Perry's pop/rock (more pop really) sound from her last album is a pure Kelly Clarkson rip off. Katy even said herself that her label wanted her to make music like Kelly and Avril, hence that sound. So no, it's not Katy Perry-esque, it's classic Kelly
Don't get me wrong, I really like Katy as an artist, but that sound doesn't belong to her. It belongs to Kelly/Pink/Avril etc.
