Nelly is like a chameleon..she's very adaptive to certain genres...she embraces dance certainly, but given if it will be a hit..it depends on the certain time
Taking into consideration that she and Timbaland pionered the "Loose" sound that became her huge success was a great timing back then, but now, times passed and the preference of the general public changed towards music...
IMO, Nelly a chameleon as she is, must only find the right material that will not only serve her fans but the general public as well...She has captivated us once, I know she can and she will
And she pushes the vocals too much...It just doesn't sound good even though she hits the notes.
...by now it should have entered the BB Hot100 and it hasn't right? How could this happen. I bet it's because it's not very radio-friendly. Well I heard it like twice on the radio and that's it (I'm in Europe).
etc. It is sad that people forgot about her...She was really big in 06/07.
