Lies will be considered the indie version of You Da One, and that's not a good thing.

Quite frankly? Radioactive and Living Dead are the only songs I can see having a moderate acceptance. USA ain't ready for the EH concept.

but minus the concept, it has tons of danceable/pop songs that i think a lot of people will like/love, with genius lyrics to kick

I dunno, I see Lies doing the best out of all her songs too... although I base that off of my friend (who only really listens to top 40 music lol) who really likes the song and had to download it when he heard it.

I think Lies would do alright. Certainly not any worse than any of her songs, but I don't feel as if she'll get mainstream success with any of EH, tbh.

Not that I have much of an ear for mainstream music, since I like precious little of it, but to my ears, the only songs that sound like potential American singles are "Lies" and "Radioactive". I could see "Bubblegum Bitch" if it didn't have the word "bitch" as an unremovable part of the song. "Hypocrates" would fit right in with songs that play during heartfelt scenes on Grey's Anatomy and the like, but those songs generally aren't big hit singles, as far as I'm aware. "Starring Role" could have been a single back in 2003 when Evanescence was in the top 10 on the singles charts, but those days are long gone.

^ I agree with you. It's not Marina that's the problem, it's the American music market...It's very shallow and one-note, I think. If Radioactive didn't do much in the UK, I don't think it would in the US, and like I said, Lies wouldn't do any worse, but I don't think it would smash either.

Even though Marina made her sound so much poppier, I STILL can't think of any of her songs that would smash here. She's still just too unique for acceptance on American radio.

If Primadonna had different lyrics it might've stood a chance.It's got the right production, but I don't think the lyrics and the quirkiness in her voice will do here.

I know there is a lot of hate for Hypocrates, but I think it could have potential as a US single.

I didn't think about that.... TBH I love Hypocrates, and I have a friend that listens to Katy Perry and a lot of mainstream stuff (he discovered Marina on katy's tour) and Hypocrates is his favorite.

It's not the dance pop sound, but it's a radio friendly sound, the way "The Only Exception" was, and it's lyrics are relatable. It might actually stand the best chance of all her new songs...Also it's a bit like "I am Not a Robot" which had decent success.

Definitely. For me, the song sounds very 90's, very six pence non the richer. With some promotion I could see it doing something here.

Unfortunately most of her other songs don't stand a chance on American radio. She'll grow a bigger following this time around though, for sure.
