Essentially, Justin Bieber's 'Believe' is planned as a two-volume release, the first (whose tracklist was just revealed) in June and the second following a few months later.
Certifications versus album sales, I suppose. If he released a double album he could probably go like 6x Platinum, but with two separate releases, he'll be able to release a standard and deluxe edition for both parts, as well as a combined package once both are out with even more bonus tracks, I'd assume.
Looks like my boy may have a shot at that #2 album sales position for the third straight year.
Not that that's a bad thing, I'm always supportive of artists taking the best business approach. It's the same music regardless of how it's released, so you might as well release it in the fashion that makes the label happier too, so long as you maintain artistic credibility.

And this is actually quite different and much smarter than the My Worlds release schedule, in my opinion. He can release Volume II around the holidays with a bundled release. He could target Black Friday vicinity and open with over half a million twice in one year if everything runs smoothly.

They could both open with 750K. This new one will definitely approach that number or even higher & with the holidays (I am expecting a Black Friday release) he will probably do around the same or even more.
His label will have a mess dealing with singles too. The first album wil be lucky to have two singles.

The beauty of it is that he's never focused on or needed singles to sell albums.
But I'm not saying they're disregarding it. I'm sure they have some type of elaborate scheme. This rumored release schedule is so good.
Maybe they should wait for the holiday season.
