Started a game for SS today. I'm currently at Violet City but only have Quilava at my Pokemon party. I'm still thinking which Flying, Water and Grass types to use. Any suggestions, gurls?

Flying - Pidgey or Spearow

Grass - Oddish or Hoppip

Water - ???

I will be starting a SS new game too and the only member I can't decide on is my Water pokemon.

What do you guys think? What should I change?

Flying-dragonite? But you wont get dratini after you have gotten all the 8 badges.

Grass- I don't use grass pokemon because it has a lot of weaknesses so i cant give any advice.

Water- Lapras? vaporean? it appears every friday in the union cave and you can never go wrong with it since you need ice beam to kill all the god damn dragonites in lance team.

Water: Magikarp and let it evolve into a Gyrados

I beat the Elite Four with a Sceptile, I could kill every Dragon pokémon with only Sceptile. Don't underestimate Grass pokémons.

Thanks gurls. I'm kind of enlightened now. But is Wooper any good? I've already caught one. I'm not really familiar in any generation 2 games.

It's like one of the best Water Pokémons. Its only weakness is Grass (4x though...), since it's immune to Electric moves.

I've never used Grass types in any of my Pokemon games before. BW2 will be the first time, but only because the pokemon I wanna use is a dual Grass and Flying type.

I've never really found a use for them.

Every member of your team is weak to Ground except for Haxorus. Unless you want to be dominated by Earthquake, you should probably switch out a couple.

Every team needs a water type, and a flying type might also be good for your team. Not to mention, Tyranitar's ability makes a sandstorm, which will damage your non-Steel/Rock/Ground type Pokemon every turn after he's switched in.

You should go with Slowking or Vaporeon in place of Tyranitar, and for a flying type, I'd go with Gliscor, in place of either Metagross or Lucario. Gliscor is a great physical wall, and Slowking and Vaporeon are great special walls; having a couple of more defensive oriented Pokemon will balance out your team.

you should've picked totodile as your starter there aren't good water pokemons at the beginning of the game
