Just looked it up and Lana's album has outperformed Kimbra's in both Australia and New Zealand. (BTD peaked at #1 in Oz and #2 in NZ whereas Vows peaked at #3 in NZ and #4 in Oz. Quite surprising really. Sorry for the slight off topic.

Vows sold more, more impressive considering her peaks weren't higher. Look it up.
I can't at people choosing Lana for the simple fact her voice is in their opinion"distinctive." That isn't talent, vocal ability is.

I think the reason why they only have chosen Lana is because they haven't even heard anything from Vows.

I bet most of the people who voted haven't heard anything other than Somebody That I Used To Know. Nor have they looked at writing credits, live performances, etc. Like I said last night, anyone going off pure talent would have chosen Kimbra. Most of the people are going by personal preference/commercial success.

I voted Kimbra, but I did it out of personal preference (I find Lana's performances uncharismatic and her lyrics don't do anything for me), so I don't think that one criticism is valid. MOst of this is personal preference anyways - there are no existing objective standards of talent when it comes to musical performers.
