A song that gets bought, sung, played and sought after shouldn't be "hated".
It clearly makes many people happy, or give them something.
For how small that moment of joy or identification can be, it shouldn't be hated or dismissed by too much high distaste.
Of course, tastes may variate and one can like or not like things.
But "to hate" a song's success is just wrong.
It's pop... it's meant to be easy and fun.
There is no age really mattering: even people who are not young anymore can relate to a song celebrating flirting feelings. You would be surprised at how many over 40 can sing a song like Call Me Maybe and feeling it for 4 minutes. It's not that when you grow up you become not permeable by easy feelings...
Or so I hope at least
