Maybe it has nothing to do with WHYB updates (and I still believe that the song has an awesome potential to be one of THE summer jams, given the song appeal and sound) but I hope that what is making radios being a bit less generous with playing that song has no link with the fact lately Rihanna seems tired and worn off about promoting her things (and I do understand her... this young girl has not known holiday since when? 2006?

).
If labels and radio invest heavily in promoting a tune, especially in the very competitive Summer time, they also are expected to push more the tracks that can legitimately bring their performers on shows, may it be for interviews or performances or anything similar.
This even more if the single object of pick up is not a first or second one.
I think Where Have You Been has a lovely summerish vibe, it is groovy and has all qualities to be a wide success.
But in such a competitive market and radio landscape, to be labeled as "not worthy too many push" takes a blink.
I wouldn't like this Rihanna song to get shadowed by her (more than right) need to rest.
