The difference being that Lady Gaga
was a nobody, therefore nobody cared about her. P!nk's massive, therefore some people would have bought the song just for her without even hearing it.
Lady Gaga was the reason Born this Way was a successful song, but she wasn't the reason Just Dance or Poker Face were. (Production-wise, I'll give her lyrics and performances and the like.)
