I don't think it's a bad thing....I mean I'm 19 and a virgin. I got offered sex two times in the past (one by a guy and one by a girl) and I declined both. When I lose my virginity, I want it to be with someone special. Even though we may not work out forever, at least I know that my first time was with someone special to me and not some random person (not judging, it's just not my thing -- I think once I lose my virginity to someone special I won't be so strict with who I give the **** to).
I mean, honestly being a virgin can suck at times because I do get really horny (especially now when I fantasize about the 4 hot straight guys at my school) but I think of the good side. At least I don't have to worry about diseases
