I voted and did all I could. As long as I know I did something to stop it, there's nothing else I can do about it. There's no point in getting angry, and there's no use in changing something that cannot be fixed (at least for now).

I am so upset about this. I went to vote today (I live in Greensboro) and I'm so disappointed in my state right now. I guess I really expected it to go down differently as we're one of the more progressive southern states; however, generally younger people don't vote in elections outside of the Presidential races so that is really when the old Bible thumpers go and wreak havoc.
This beyond deplorable. I am not lesbian or bisexual, but, it infuriates me that there are so many people that are comfortable with treating other people like second class citizens because of who they love.
And even more disgusting, the fact that we're the 29th state to pass bans on gay marriage and/or civil unions. It really pisses me off that the liberals/progressive politicians on the national level fence ride and goose step around this issue. States should not be allowed to ban gay marriage, PERIOD. It is unconstitutional; however, because it is unpopular, nobody is willing to fully go there and they leave it to idiots state by state to decide who can and can not enter into a marriage contract and it is sickening and flat out wrong.
When will Americans figure out that the ban on Gay Marriage is a violation of the 14th amendment Equal Protection Clause - "nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
Some people need to learn that they are voting for a law that is unconstitutional.
